2 month in/ Prepping for Vacation

2 months in and I'm only 4 lbs lost.... Sort of.....After my first week I gained 4 lbs because of cheating. I'm down 8-9  since then and I am pretty happy with my situation. Eating is pretty stable except for cheat day/s.  Those are a work in progress. Working out...isn't a struggle, but I can't say I'm into it, but it's doable.  They key seems to be doing workouts I like.  I know that sounds silly.  Alot of times I feel like we're supposed to force ourselves to do something for our health or weightloss.  I've noticed I'll start talking myself out of a workout when it is something I really don't want to do.  A good example is I'm not a fan of HIIT, or overly chatty instructors, or when the group is acting like its a dinner party rather than a workout.  I also don't like anything over 45 min.  That's my limit.  It doesn't matter how awesome it, I'll get annoyed or tired and not be interested.  I do cardio because I have...

I can see the finish line

Diet bet is over tomorrow.  As of this morning I was 361.8, I needed to be at 362.5 to win.  Nervous, but happy I finally got to win one.  With that being said, I won't be doing a dietbet next month. I feel like I have an unhealthy obsession with the scale and I was starting to try and starve myself to my goal weight (359). I was talking with a co-worker who said he didn't get on the scale just stayed focused for a month.  I was jealous.  I get up every morning and weigh myself 2-3 times to see how low I can get. I think dietbet was great at jump starting my journey again and keeping me focused, but I need to just leave it alone for a bit. For February my goal is 8 lbs, if did dietbet it would be 14, which would be awesome, but not sure how doable it is, or how scale obsessed I would become. The other issue is, I might be in a plateau from losing so quickly.  16-17 lbs in a month is a lot, even at my size. I've been sitting around 361 for a f...

Let it Snow

I live in the northeast and today was our first blizzard after not having a real winter.  I think mother nature if making up for lost time. I'm totally ok with that. I finished up my 21 day challenge with no issues.  I was supposed to hangout tonight, which might have been an issue with staying on plan, but since I'm trapped in the house it was east breezy. yay me. My cheat day was another interesting experience.  I had one donut. It tasted good, proud of myself since I was eating 2 or 3 at a time without blinking.  I had sushi for lunch, less than I usually had. Then I was on my way home. I was hungry and it was a cheat day so I had chicken nuggets from Wendy's.  It was that or a hamburger, but the bread would have stuck with me longer than the breading on the nuggets.  Anyway....My stomach was not happy. They seemed super salty and greasy. I kind of enjoyed them, but after about 20 min, it felt like I had an oil slick in my stomach...ugh....

And the Scale Keeps Me on My Toes

So yesterday I hit my dietbet goal. I figured from here on in, it was going to be smooth sailing and as long as I didn't binge I would be ok.  yeah, not so much. Yesterday. I had sort of splurged and had eggs instead of egg white, 2 sausages and toast (i always have toast in the morning, without it, I'm hungry again in a couple of hours and I am not totaly against carbs).  For lunch I had a spinach salad.  at about 4 I was hungry again, but fought agains having a snack pack of oreos. On the way home I realized I was starving and actually got a hunger headache. I didn't do the easy thing and stop at Wendy's for nuggets.  I waited til I got home and had a big bowl of cabbage. I was still kind of hungry so I baked some chicken thighs I had marinating.  I probably finished eating at 10.  I was satisfied, not full. I got on the scale today and went from 362.2 to 363.8.  1.6 lbs up.  I think if I had cheated I would have beaten myself up, but I di...

Is it a Battle or a War

It took about a day to lose the weight from the weekend, add on my tilt off the wagon( more on that later). I think weekends will always be a weird time, the goal tho is to stay mostly on plan unless it is a planned cheat meal. Anyway, so I have a slight cold, my period is coming and I had a sugar craving.  I waited till after lunch realized part of it was just being hungry. I bought two pack of 6 oreos.  The craving lessened after I ate lunch, but it didn't go away.  I probably could have just not ate them, but I don't want it to grow into a binge. So I ate them With all of that i'm down almost 2 lbs this morning, which is my total for the weekend. I did work out yesterday and I stayed on plan except for the oreos.  Dealing with my eating and how I deal with food is the war.  This was a small skirmish and I don't take as a loss.  I made a concious decision after hours and comtemplation to eat the cookies.  I don't have any desire for anything els...

Stop Drop and Change

So I haven't posted in a while on purpose. So my slow carb diet wasn't working for me.  The problem was I couldn't seem to handle the 6 days on plan and only one day on plan. I could get the 6 days, cheat day was literally the whole weekend and then I could maybe go 5 days before I would have another fall off the wagon.  Also the scale was killing me.  I was sabotaging myself then trying to work off the cheat weight and then annoyed when the scale wasn't moving. Also the end of summer hangouts caused problems... I also kept hurting myself.  I was wearing shoes that did something to m feet where walking hurt.  I was fine barefoot, but shoes hurt. So I just stopped...everything. I haven't been on the scale in a couple of weeks.  If I want to cheat I think about it and make a decision.  Weirdly I'm not that pressed about it. There was a sugar binge, but I started my period the next day so I'm gonna chalk that up to hormones. Then I got sick...

Getting old

So yesterday was a pretty ok day, It all went down hill when I ate my salad for lunch.  In literally the last year I've become allergic to tree nuts, not peanuts.  I'm not a big nut person in general, but yesterday I had a salad with pesto checking in it.  I got itchy.  My co-worker realized the pesto probably had pine nuts in it. So they gave me some children's benedryl..I think I was better off being slightly itchy.  In fact I'm sure I was better off.  For literally the rest of the day I just couldn't seem to wake up.  I went home and at 9. I just crashed. and that was children's benedryl.  I think I've only felt like that after doing lots of shots at a dive bar.  I might need this for my next party. Anyway I woke up today, with two slightly swollen stiff knees so no workout.  I had done 2 days in a row, so I"m ok with the day off.  Tomorrow instead of whatever my hybrid schedule her I'll do 21 day fix upper fix a...

I wanna Party with Shaun T

So shaun T is hot, but weirdly Im not attracted to him, but i did Speed 1.0 and he would be an awesome hype man.  The music helped everything move faster.  So I think I've figured out what happened to my knee...Weights.  Not sure why, but Idid dirty 30 after speed 1.0 and at the end I could feel my knee swell. I am doing all my workout Mon-Thur so I don't have to workout Fri or Sat.  I was going to try and do legs tomorrow, but that will just make my knee worse.  So I think  it will be piyo upper and my leslie sansone piltes which had been wanting to do anyway.  I might try and do something when I get home but eh we'll see The other side of this is..I'm tired of autumn.  Nothing is wrong, but something clicked today where I just wasn't interested in listening to her anymore.  I know I'll go back to her, loved 21 day fix, but I need to replace it.  I think its going to be P90.  (no x or x2 or x3).  It seems like its ...

21 day fix Cardio Fix - Just do something.

So my plan was to double up on one of the workouts so I could try them all in the first week before I start over on monday AND get a rest day in between That is the face I'm making at myself.  My legs are a lil sore from leg fix and my arms and sides are still recovering from upper fix. I did cardio fix and I jogged rather than do mountain climbers or burpees.  Then she said bonus..come on you know you want to do the bonus round....Um yeah no I really don't This is an exact recreation of my face...off went amber, no cool down, no 200 do not pass go... So I'm sure someone is reading this like you won't get the maximum effect...I don't care...one of the things I've learned if forcing myself to do the thing I hate (not just don't like) is going to lead to me avoiding them in the future and gaining the weight back.  Its a fine line.  No I didn't do mountain climbers or burpees or the bonus round (i did it yesterday), but I got up ...

21 day fix week 1 - Upper Fix / The scale is being totally weird

Its been a long time since I really loved a workout...I loved doing upper fix.  I tend to try and to total body workout because I have limited time, but this reminded me that its nice to be able to focus completely on one area. I used 8lb and 5 lb weights and pretty much stuck to the non modified version except for pushups and planks.  I got on the ground for everything else.  A nice surprise, since I've been doing pilates for 2 months the crunches and other ab work didn't kill me. Amber talks, but I'm more concerned with pushing out as many reps at my own speed than whatever she is saying. If you're reading this, I'm not a beachbody coach.  I've been checking out review to preview what's to come and I've noticed in 99% of the reviews which are usually positive the person is or wants to be a beachbody coach.  I consider that a conflict of interest, but I could be wrong. Scheduling...21 day fix is basically a straight 21 days of working out. The 7...

What have we learned June 2015

So I put the air conditioner in last night and no problems getting up. My electric bill is going to be interesting at the end of the month, but its worth it. So last day of the month.  There were alot of ups and down, but my belief is this is a journey and you learn from the sucky moments just as well and the awesome ones. Last scale reading for the month was 359. What did I learn: -I can go out and have a drink. A drink, and wine is better than beer.  I will see a bump up on the scale, but as long as I go right back to eating on plan and working out it is really just a blip and not much to worry about -I do better when I bring lunch to work.   I can stay on plan without, but its will help me and my pocketbook -Being consistent yields results.  I've been doing pilates for a month and I can plank for 25 seconds. I have my knees on the ground, but hey I'll take it. -If I'm avoiding working out, change my workout.  I have been planning to do The Firm:...

Finally Back...its been a long Journey

So I promised myself I wouldn't post until I was in the 350s.  this time I started in the 370s (blah)  I hit 358 this last weekend, but I waited and I haven't shot up.my final weigh in for the month is Tuesday so I should be fine.   So I usually blog fall off and then am annoyed with myself.  This time I really made myself accountable. I've been wanting to blog, but I made it a reward and feeling awesome. This is a quickie post, just happy I made it. My other reward was buying something and I chose the 21 day fix.  I'm learning I can't do the same workout over and over again or I"ll get bored and stop.  Also it was nice to buy it knowing I had earned it. Meal plan is modified slow carb and I workout in the morning 3-4 days a week.  I have a fitbit, but after the initial motivation,  I'm not a walker and it isn't something I can do long term for exercise. So yeah I'm back.  358. which isn't great, but on my way down...

Repeating Mistakes/ To fibit not to fitbit

LOL once I start blogging I can't stop. So I'm in the exercise groove...I've been here before..the weight is coming off.  I'm eating right, feeling good..and then...I do too much, get frustrated and binge and then quit...sigh So I started posting on 3 fat chicks again.  I felt like I need an outlet for things I was feeling without judgement and I like reading about other people struggles so I don't feel alone.  I am avoiding any challenges and any group posts.  The posts where everyone already knows everyone so you post but no one responds because they don't really know you...blah... The reality is I don't do well on challenges and it stops becoming about weight loss and feeling good and more about "winning" nothing..because there is no actual prize.  If I win yeah..but often I "lose" and feel bad and then begins a downward spiral into feeling like a failure.  Weirdly this is also the reason I never got into counting carbs or cal...

Tipped to the side on the wagon.

Posted on 3fc: Had a binge this weekend blah :?:  It wasn't emotional or anything.  I bought the low carb peanut butter cups and I ate the whole box (12).  I was mildly hungry, but I have been on this sugar thing lately.  Anyway, they can't come back in the house.  When it cools off I'll keep in the car.  I worked out a lil harder this morning.  Also seems since I've been working out I need to relearn hunger and not overeat. I like to work out on an empty stomach and by the time I'm done I feel like I wanna gnaw off my own leg.  I worked out, had a glass of almond milk to take the edge off while I made breakfast.  That was about 8:30. By the time I was almost to work at noon I was looking for something else.  So I picked up a danish...blah.  I packed my lunch today and dinner should be fine, but maybe I need a bigger breakfast.  I'm thinking of trying toast with breakfast on wednesday and see if that helps. To stop my add...

Still here

So I am back on the wagon, but not quite so obsessed.  I'm get on the scale on  Nov 30.  My only thing i am trying to stick to is not eating out.  No more logging on spark people and I haven't looked at 3fc in more than a week.  I have cooked and have been bringing my lunch.  I am happy.  Because I took a whole week off from working out. I am behind on my min.  So I am scrambling to get it in. Tried out tae bo today. I liked it, but Billy banks makes my head hurt. Also tried the trainers edge, it was ok, but I'm not really up for floor work right now.  I might by the trainers edge for christmas.  We'll see 30 min billbanks 25min trainers edge. Now that I am typing this I am going to do drop it in 30 today. Which would get me down to 175.  We'll see.

Hey 340s how you doin'

Well I finally feel like I am getting it. I seem to do IE naturally on the weekend and I lost weight and this isn't with a whole lot of exercise.  SO the problem seems to be my eating during the week.  I am going to calorie count for my food during the day at work.  I also bought some lean cuisines, but they are mind of sucky expecially after eating my own food, but I want to know whats going on during the week. I also bought a game called Walk it out for the Wii.  I am not counting it in my exercise minutes, but it is a work out.  I am trying to do 5000 steps whenever I play it.  My motivator right now is unlocking stuff as you walk, right now i am working on the music So I am at the point where I would extend my workout, but I am going to keep it 60 min mon, wed, and fri.  I think thats enough and I remember last night it seemed to take forever.  I should be done with my min way before the end of the month and I'll up my min to 600. 347 AFTE...

Learning more about me

no working out today, I want to rest my ankle a little more.  I'm happy I'm losing, but I also want it to heal.  I'm visiting my parents today and Goal is to try and stay low carb while I'm there.  hanging out after, no real issue there. I have to drive so I don't drink. So Yesterday was friday and I realized I do alot of emotional eating on friday. One, I think its the end of the week so i get to treat myself and the treat is usually food.  Instead I went to whole foods and finally discovered a place to by the peppers I've been looking for (habanero and Serrano).  Its a different form of retail therapy but its worked.  On my way home I hate coming home to an empty house and no plans so I think I do some comfort food eating.  I was hungry when I left work so I had to small bags of doritos (300cal total ) and when I got home to low fat puddings.  not great, but better than the fast food I would have eaten. Also Tue and thur are my early days ...
