My eating plan is Low carb modified intuitive eating (yeah I made that up.) Basically i am on phase 1/2 of south beach or Atkins, but I don't count carbs I eat when I'm hungry and I stop. I know the carb content of most of the food I eat so I can make reasonable choices.
Here are the things that help me stay on plan.
You need support, not everyone is going to understand why you think the scale is a tourture device or why you just all those forbidden foods when you are on a diet. Being judged sucks. Judging is not support.
So when I started losing weight the best thing I ever did was stumble upon the 3 fat chicks website. There is NO BETTER site for weight loss support around.
There I learned the following
-Figure out what you are eating, calories, chemicals, fats, carbs. No what plan you choose to follow figure it out. Once I learned about all the different things in what I was eating I started to cook more.
- For me cooking is essential. I can't always tell what is in whatever I am eating at a restaurant is made with, at the same time I had no idea how to cook, let alone cook healthy. 3fatchicks (3FC) was helpful, but the website I love is cookinglight.com and the magazine. It give me good, usually simple recipes.
